Sorry I'm not American, I'm a foreigner ! What's a Spartan?

Since Spartans are American??? Lol what in the world are you talking about? I can see this isn't going anywhere.

Good luck to AE. I tend to cheer for that program in the playoffs. Hopefully they will schedule Webb next year and try to get their first win against the Spartans in over a decade. Perhaps by then you will have picked up a history book....of course not until having developed better comprehension skills so you can realize Spartans aren't American....

And next year AE won't have as many speedsters as this year so I see why Meske would want to call.. But Phillips not afraid to play anyone if his schedule allows it, he'll put Webb on the schedule... however, he won't look into that until December

Yea you are wrong on this one. AE will be faster next year than they are this year. Their man talent is young. You have to actually think about the guys they loose that our fast. Mobley and warren are the burners but they have a little warren who also made it to state and they a few others. Just watch theh will be scary fast cause the guys will also be getting older.... Webb has 3 guys that can run. AE will have 10 guys at least that will be able to run.

I may be wrong but I don't know as much about the younger players... Little Warren will have to learn the plays but yea he's a speedster too. Aero is also fast. I mean they'll be fast but I don't think they'll be as fast. My opinion

All that speed and lose to Halls. Who I seriously doubt has 1 player that could run with the top 3-5 AE players.

I'll leave it at this. AE had more speed every year they played Webb and every year they still lost...

2005 Webb 26 AE 22 (@Austin-East)

2006 Webb 31 AE 30 (@Webb)

2007 Webb 35 AE 27 (@Austin-East)

2008 Webb 19 AE 6 (@Austin-East)

Fun fact. I played on all four of those teams. 4-0 lifetime against AE.

2009 AE then drops series knowing it would only get worse as Webb goes on to field even stronger teams the next four years with Aaron and Caleb Blance and Todd Kelly Jr. Every year Meske calls....every year AE says no.

Do I respect AE? Yes. Do I want them to go far in the postseason? Yes. But let's not act like AE has ever been dominat over the Webb School of Knoxville or brought back the same number of Chips to Knoxville.

Now that Webb has more speed than ever (even if it is less than AE) history tells us Webb wins.

Once again a loss to (slow) Halls....

"Loss to (slow) Halls" must be the new "loss to Fulton" phrase that the AE boys will continue to hear! As soon as they beat Fulton, Halls was brought up. So let's say AE would have beat Halls....then what? What would be the next phrase used? "Oh, that's why my great-granddad out ran yours back in 1934!!!" Or will it be something like, "AE was only good when Leroy Thompson played in '88!" But seriously, when AE played Halls, they should have won. But guess what....THEY DIDN'T! That loss is what prepared them for the rest of the season. If you would have noticed, they came back stronger and more determined! Cramps hurt AE that night....I know because my son missed blocks because of cramps in both legs. However, I would not allow him to use that as an excuse. One thing about those AE boys that I admire is the fact they they do not dwell on the "should have, could have, or would have." They focus on the present and take it one day at a time.

I would not even worry about any of this mess!AE is very very good and are doing what they are asked every Fi night.I very seldom but merit is first or second games of the season.Teams are trying to gel and get the kinks worked out.AE HAS THE KINKS WORKED OUT!I like that they just show up and play no mouth running or antics they just play.I'm an AE fan this year!I love that an old player is at the helm to me that is one of the great things about High school ball. You all don't play Webb and won't so who cares,Halls is a good team and it showed AE what to work on and so far I say it has worked.I watched that Halls game about 10 times and came to the conclusion that this AE team had the potential to rein terror in 2A.I wasn't wrong!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
