DA GUTTS LIKE TO PASS BUT IF YOU GOT A RUNNING GAME THAT DEFENSE CANT STOP IT. BEFORE SOMEONE REMINDS ME OF MY OWLS DEBACLE 1 OF OUR BACKS HAD 115 YDS RUSHING AT THE HALF. WHEN HE LEFT THE GAME DUE TO AN INJURY IN THE MID 3RD QTR, SO DID THE REST OF THE TEAM. WE STILL HAD A CHANCE TO SEAL IT IF THE PASS CAUGHT ON THE 2 REACHED THE END ZONE,AND THE FG WITH 2 SECONDS LEFT. QUESTIONABLE CALL WHETHER THE BALL CROSS THE PYLON BUT HAD MULTIPLE CHANCES TO WIN NO EXCUSES. THE LINEBACKER/ BACK IS A HARD RUNNER AND WAS GASED BUT SMELT BLOOD IN THE WATER AND WILLED HIS TEAM TO A WIN. HE IS BASICALLY THEIR LONE BACK BUT THE SPEED OF THIS GAME MAY BE TOO MUCH. INDY HAD SOME MELTDOWNS IN THE LAST 2 GAMES THAT CAN BE A MOMENTUM SHIFT. BUT UNLIKE MY OWLS THEY HELD ON TO WIN. THIS GAME CAN GO EITHER WAY IF ONE TEAM DOESN'T PLAY TILL THE CLOCK RUNS OUT.

Congrats to the Farragut Admirals but most especially to one of the most deserving, straight up coaches I have ever met Coach Courtney. Well Done Coach!!  And Cooper Hardin has to MVP of that game.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
