UC might as well turn in their pads, and helmets when the regular season is over, cause they ain't winning a gold ball.  I doubt they are even a top ten team in 2a.  41-0 to a 2a kentucky team that won't even make it out of the semifinals if they even get that far.  Embarrased to be from Tennessee.

After Mayfield beats UC next season, even worse, that will be the last game for 20 or 30 years

That man done lost his mind. This Cardinal team wins #13 this year. I wouldn't right the rest of the year off for UC. The truth is, TN small school football is really that far behind Ky small school football. I said it before the game.

55 don't be that hard on them they really didn't know. They are confident about there team just like we are. Them tornados fought hard till the end not once did I see any one of them give up HEARR OF CHAMPIONS congrats TORNADOES you can win them all but you can win the rest of them get the passing up to par without that it will be a tough road ahead in 2a

Thanks for being gracious guys. It's been fun.  I don't think I have ever been a part of a thread that has gone on so long before.  I saw some good things mixed in with everything that went wrong with my Tornadoes tonight.  At times we moved the ball very well and we did intercept one pass and forced a punt if I remember correctly.  It was the bad that got us. I said earlier that the team that didn't turn the ball over and commit stupid penalties was the team that would win.  Well,  5 fumbles and 10 penalties in the first half. .......there you go.  I have no doubt that Mayfield is the best team but I think we did every bit as much to hurt ourselves as you guys did.  Good luck to the Cards.  I would book me a room for the State Championship game if I was a Mayfield fan.

I already put in for the vacation time for that weekend.  I hope you guys win another one this year as well.  I'm not being too rough 1980.  I just thought it was crazy for whoever came in and replied that they got killed by a team that won't even make it past semi finals.  I promise you, we are going to win #13 this year.

I certainly want to be gracious in victory and defeat so don't take this too hard. I explained this to 55.   If you go look at national rankings it becomes obvious.  in KY the public and privates are not separated out into different classes so in KY one must beat the privates as well as the public.   In KY the privates dominate  class 2A except for us.   So. When we win a title and knock out the privates it's all the sweeter.  Traditionally TN teams that have been brave enough to schedule us have suffered at. Our hands.  For example Milan, though only a scrimmage in recent years, back in their heyday Milan has been State Champs and still taken a L at our hands.  Similar story for Trousdale County back in their hay day. Anyway excuse me getting off course.  To learn more about UC I looked up national rankings on Max.  Like many I realize a national ranking system has its flaws.  But , it also isn't typically to far off.  Results over the last few years, and  this year show that Mayfield   is far and away the highest rated team UC will face All year so a state title is still a real possibility.   Despite the thinking of many, TN small class football isn't as good as KY small school football most years and Mayfield plays a much stronger schedule.  I think this misconception comes from the fact that The Univ of TN is better than U.K.    Even in big class public ball kY Louisville Trinity usually beats the TN privates.  U C should be fine moving forward as they no one else like us on the schedule the rest of the way.  The bourbon is taking hold so I will finish this later but UC has a great team and I hope they put this behind them and take the state title.   I guess I left H and B too early, I would have loved to meet some of you.

Like to clear one thing up. But before I do I will preface it by saying. Mayfield is mayfield. They are an awesome team. For those who didn't know they proved it last night.

Only one time has mayfield beaten Milan when Milan won the state championship in the same year. It was in 1998. How do I know??  That was my senior year. We went to your place and took a 26-14 L. It was a very hard fought game. Having said that I suspect that Mayfield team may be a little better than this years addition and this UC team is not nearly as good as that Milan team was. So to make that comparison would not be real fair. But just wanted to clarify it has only been once and it sure wasn't 41-0. But I tip my hat to the cardinals on a great win. And UC... hold your heads up guys. I'll be rooting for ya the rest of the way out!!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
