Greenback does have a talented sophomore class. But they have several upperclassmen that actually lead the team. They're actually talented from top to bottom and could have a different "stand out" player in each game. That is why they're so successful. Most players could be moved around to play several different positions without making a big difference. They are also very deep in the pitching category. As long as this team keeps their heads on straight and continues to play team ball there is no reason they shouldn't go all the way.

To date, it looks like Greenback has the bullseye on its butt. That is an impressive start for any team, let alone a Class A school. Lots of work to do up Oak Ridge Highway for sure, though beating Webb and Morristown West is a welcome step forward. Good thing this is a marathon and not a sprint! I kind of like the underdog role. Here's hoping for dry skies this week for everyone.

I learned everything I know from Pride, including sandbagging! From the looks of those lopsided Gback games, everybody's a U-dog v them this year. It's good for all of us trying to get ready for a tourney run. Better competition breeds better preparation to beat the best come tourney time. There's room for two Dist 3 teams in Murfreesboro. The question is....who will they be?

Harriman canceled baseball game vs GB at Harriman today due to impending weather, but their softball game right next to the baseball field vs GB girls is still on. What?? Is their baseball field that much worse than the softball fieild?

They are polishing their new trophy..Has to be the only other reason or are the girls in Harriman tougher than the boys??We know OUR cheerleaders are.LOL! Edited by orngnblk

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what happened.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
