Pickett is the last person that needs to be talking about someone's schedule... if you've never ventured out past the message boards, there are quite a few teams at state with tougher schedules according to Coach T than Pickett. It's always funny to hear you guys talk big talk but go out in the first round the past two years.

I'm not from Pickett County, i'm from Jackson County.  We've won 8 state championships, 7 since 2000 so i know a little about girls basketball in this state my friend.  SG is a quality team and one that is a favorite to win it all again, outside of that no one has a shot to beat the teams out of District 7A.  So don't confuse me with the fans of Pickett County, I'm pulling for them and Clarkrange to bring home both the gold and silver balls this year.  The teams from District 7A have won 11 gold balls over the past 16 years and during that time they have 5 or 6 silver balls so we know a little about winning over here... :popcorneater:

Don't confuse the coacht "strength of schedule" because all you east tn teams play each other so your records look good on paper but unfortunately games aren't played or won on paper nor does winning a game at summer camp count.  We'll find out soon enough :)

Oh ok most fans aren't usually on here when their season gets done. I've had a chance to come watch District 7A this year and the Clarkrange at Jackson County game was probably the slowest game I've ever been to. Schools like Morristown West, Knoxville Webb, South Greene, and Oak Ridge are always said to play weak schedule but find a way to compete and/win.

You have said the same thing the past two years and we all have seen how that played out. It does not matter at all how many gold balls you have in how many years. All the matters are the teams playing this year at state. Once again we will see the "so strong" Pickett County eliminated in the first round. I will take SG to the championship game against CR and beating PC by 20+ in the first round.

Ahhh i just love it when i get to break a "cherry" on CoachT :)  I think thats about 112 thus far!  I'll take PC +20 for a substantial amount if you care to take that "friendly" wager sir/maam.  Just join coacht and PM me and we can take it from there!

After reading UC's posts I almost called South Greene's coach and tried to talk him into not going on Thursday because they have no shot. Then I went back and read his posts from last year and they were almost the same. I believe South Greene at least has a chance.

Well as usual you boys from East Tn aren't the best interpreter's of the english language.  So please show me one post where i said SG wasn't a favorite to win it?

You just said you'd take PC for +20.

You must be a democrat.... You voted for Killery didn't you??? Read ALL the posts about this subject you've started rambling about and you'll see where one of the people who are backing SG said South Greene by 20+ over Pickett County.  I merely replied to this post as one can see... I know your reading skills are sketchy at best and the facts are confusing for some of you hillbillies but do try and keep up...

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
