Bradley Central Bearettes

What is funny is based on this site's strength of schedule Cleveland was ranked as the 25th toughest schedule. Played Cumberland twice, Fulton, Oak Ridge, and two of the three so called weak Single A teams were 25 win teams Meigs and Northview Academy. As said before Rome was not built in a day.

That 2 win season would have been better if they would have played this year's schedule. Especially the Christmas tourney. East ridge, unicoi, then lose to a fair at best Meigs team. That was a strong one SMH! Unicoi and East ridge combined 16-38 that's a Cleveland tourney that was held to get Cleveland 3 wins. I know you can control who they let in it. Rome wasn't built on soft ground EITHER SMH !!!!

of course it was held to get them 3 wins. You have to learn to win games, you have to build confidence in the girls coming off an all time worse season. You have to realize that it is year 1 of a very long process after the program hit rock bottom after having great recent success. You schedule comparable teams talent wise. This is high school sports, you can't just go and get 3 star athletes to compete with. If you get lucky enough to have a good group of talent you do everything that you can to prepare them for a deep run.

In a few years the lady Raiders will be fine. Did you see the teams playing in the new Rec league. Some decent coaching and I think for a first year it looked pretty decent. Feeder systems pay off. If you can get them to stay in the programs.

they will be fine. It will take some time, it's not going to turn around over night. Going to take a lot of hard work and dedication and patience from the fan base.

Indian, we do have zones. City and County. The City is it's own stand alone but county kids can pay and attend Cleveland City Schools. Many do in fact.

A while back when we built Walker Valley our Dir. of Schools and Board members drew the lines for the 2 high schools. About 70% of the county student population was drawn to immediately feed the new school with the intent of balancing it back out once WV got well established. Now that WV is doing really well (about 1500) the word is that the districts may be redrawn at some point. Problem is Bradley is about full too. (1800) Here's a chuckle for you: There is a road that is less than 2 miles from the back gate at Bradley where the county line is that is zoned for WV which is actually about 17 miles from that same spot. As you go on further down that road toward Hamilton County, the zone doesn't change. A spot on the Hamilton County line 20 miles away is still zoned for WV. Probably about 6 miles from Bradley.

That is one reason so many who attend the one middle school that is somewhat connected to WV actually choose to go to Bradley and drive 3-4 miles rather than 20 miles. I don't know if anything will change or even can at this point without expanding classrooms at Bradley, but there are some discussions about it. All 3 schools in our community are good schools with good people. I'm proud to cheer for all of them. (except when they play the Bears)

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
