Man this is a lot of fluff and nonsense.  What is your point putting all this propaganda on T?  We know they are going to be good.  By posting this are you trying  convincing yourself of their talent?

These girls work hard and have for years to get where they are now. These comments were from their coach. What is WRONG with you???? They deserve some recognition.

John,

it just seems like a slight overkill

I will always praise these great kids... the outstanding players and especially those who aren't the top players,  when they do get a chance to play and do well. All these kids put everything into basketball and  most students who are involved in sports do better academically as well.

No-one is saying that the girls don't deserve praise, but let the newspapers write the large articles. Just seems like you got a little excited and went overboard....lol. I'm glad to see that you're a big supporter of the team.

There was NO large article. There were simple quotes. If you want overboard, just wait for the season to start!

If Pickett has a sure d1 prospect as a freshman ,she should average no less than 15 pts a game being a freshman then with the talent comin back should be no problem in winnin the district or even state, but Clarkrange is your 2017 class A runner up state and I agree they look better than they did last year. New game ,new style.

Pickett beat them last year when it counted...in the district tournament and region tournament and PC's Courtney Pritchett was named MVP in both those games over Miss Basketball Kara Meadows. Pickett also played South Greene closer than Clarkrange did. Clarkrange lost Kara Meadows and has no one to replace her. Pickett lost 2 starters and do have players as good, maybe better to replace them.

OK, so Pickett beat Clarkrange in district AND at regions, but Clarkrange got the last laugh by playing in the championship game! And Pritchett can have district & regions MVP because Meadows beat her when it counted most, MISS BASKETBALL !!

Actually, most would argue that this is not the case. Miss Basketball is mostly a newspaper award.... Pritchett I can almost bet would not trade the 2 MVP awards for that because those 2 MVP awards meant that they actually beat CR head to head. Just my two cents on that.

Secondly, CR got an easy draw at the state tournament two years out of the last three. That's a fact Jack. Had they drawn SG twice, or middleton 3 years ago, they would have been ousted in the first round. That being said, the draw is part of it. Ya gotta be a little lucky to win one  of those things.

Last, Clarkrange will be better this year than last. They will play a different style. They replaced Meadows with more speed and athletic ability. The Monday twins will make an immediate impact. Pierce, Howard, and Pyle will also contribute, but not as much as the twins. They will try to play a faster pace, which will make it interesting when they play Pickett because those girls have played that way for a long, long time....

Reality, the best two teams in the state may be from the same district this year. Jackson County will also be better and will be dangerous. Gonna be a fun year.

Play 4 Fun, i was just teasing bobcatfan300. I think both ladies are very satisfied with their achievements and hardware. This season should be alot of fun because i don't think we have a clear-cut number one team   like last year.

How could they be better losing Kara Meadows, Miss Basketball? They will be good as always, but losing a player like Kara is HUGE. She scored 45 in the region final!

She might of scored 45 but with her attitude she carried on the floor, clarkrange will be better without her. They play better as a team when she is not on the floor with them. As a clarkrange fan I am excited for the upcoming season and not having to watch her.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
