With all these studs they have recruited why was they scared to play Private ?? Wasnt they the only private school to remain in Public playoffs ?? Wonder how some of those kids that were getting aid are gonna play now ??? I know they were suppose to cut out the parents from having " jobs" .. laundry , sprinklers  etc ..to make up for tuition .. heard one family that told them they couldnt afford to pay for their star player to continue there was told dont worry we work something out ... ;);)

The transfer from Indiana played at a Catholic high school up there and he's from Knoxville, wanted to come back home. From what I gather he hasn't played basketball in two years. I didn't know about Raynoch Thompson son transferring. There will always be stories of "I heard this and I heard that". The TSSAA allowed Catholic to stay. If you're hearing things turn it in. Ever since I moved to Knoxville I heard stories about Fulton and how they get athletes all the time but I don't believe in rumors. Fulton athletics speaks for itself, kids play for winners. Catholic wasn't scared to play with the privates, after all, they're playing Brentwood Academy, Baylor, and Eagles Landing. In my opinion the school was not going to let Meske and Webb dictate where they played (sending the Irish to Memphis to play while controlling the cut off to where his own team plays) put someone else on the board of control with common sense and no ties to Webb D2 and the Irish would've been gone. Three classes in D2 is pathetic. But no one will see it that way.

Q .. turn then in .. I would never do that to a kid or his parents even though they can't afford it to pay .. I was referring to playing privates as far as in playoffs ..

I know Tadvol, it's all good. I've always said keep everyone together for the regular season then split the privates and publics up for playoffs. If they can do the Z-plan surely they can come up with a plan for private/publics. It's crazy.

I'm not sure about the class of 5A. The offensive line is very good, but losing as many seniors (some of them who were four year starters) as they did on offense and defense it's going to be tough. Some inexperienced players really need to step up this year. I know I keep harping on it (no Q-Lou) but the schedule is brutal, however, I think it should prepare the Irish for playoffs.

Question for you Q, with Catholic staying public and not suppose to have tuition breaks does is still apply that if a student is part of the Catholic Church they still get a $1,650 tuition break compared to a non Catholic student?  Just curious on how that is going to work

The Catholic students don't get a tuition break. There is an upcharge for non-Catholic students. Just like in-state and out-of -state tuition for a college student.

Weren't scared to play the privates...just couldn't afford to have district games in Nashville and Memphis for the non-revenue sports.

Come on Q - LOU .. you guys are stacked .... you wont have a problem as far as 5A playoffs noone will be able to match what KC has brought in as far as recruiting and been able to hold onto even with the new rules of NO aid given !! ;) ... but again I said that last year ...  46-25  .. ouch ... at least we were the spoiler for you guys .. and then we got it handed back to us from Central .. after having such a dominating win as we did againt Catholic on their field .. guess our guys just couldnt muster it up for Central .

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
