Gordonsville at Smith County

I've seen these games be close when they shouldn't have been, so I won't count Gordonsville out, but from what I saw Friday and after listening to the replay of the Smith County game, Gordonsville has a mighty uphill battle.

As always seems to be the case, if SC gets up a couple of scores, G-ville starts hanging their heads. If SC lets G-ville hang around, and gives them hope.........it's gonna be close.

SC did enough to stop MC and I'm not sure G-ville has a better offense than MC and I don't think G-ville's defense can contain SC's offense.

If SC's quarterback operates like he did last week, this game is not close. That was the difference in the game with Macon. He didn't seem as accurate with his passes last year, but he was on the money all night last week. A healthy 24 also helps. Smith is scary good for a 3A team in this area. Speed and size all over the field. I say SC wins 35-7.

It's not a whole lot louder on the Northside.

That's confidence your hearing on this side Croz...... I'm studying on something like 35/28-7.

Croz, do you feel like some of the coaching changes over the last 2-3 years has had an effect?

I have an opinion, but rather not say a whole lot.

I think what took place Friday was a culmination of several different factors.

What I saw Friday was a team that lacked an offensive identity. I would expect to see some things changed tomorrow so we'll see.

I also didn't understand some personnel decisions, but I'm not at practice so I'm not going to question them specifically on here.

There's other things, but I'm trying to be extremely diplomatic. I'm supporting my team regardless of things that I may disagree with, because I may not have the whole story.

    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
