District Tournaments

Can't believe another regular season is about to wrap up.   Any updates on district regular season champs?

I think that Goodpasture, Siegel and Brentwood have wrapped up regular season titles.   Who else?  Portland, Station Camp?

Hume-Fogg definitely has. I don't know about these others, but it appears Camden, Sullivan South, and Harpeth have won their regular season district titles. I need to check on Signal Mtn. Anybody else know?

Looks like Summertown has their district regular season wrapped tight, and from the looks of it there probably won't be a change in the top 3 in that district after the district tournament. Right now it's:

1. Summertown

2. Loretto

3. Lewis County

In Williamson County, the 12 AAA Tournament bracket is basically set. Brentwood will have to get by the winner of Summit vs. Independence in order to advance to the next round. Page and Ravenwood have sealed 2nd and 3rd place, in some order or another. Which means, assuming they get past Centennial / Franklin (and I do), they'll play each other to see who advances, and who starts getting ready for club tryouts.

Siegel won their District Tournament, but of course they did.

No shocks in round 1 of the 12AAA Tournament. Ravenwood and Page will meet in one semifinal, Brentwood vs. Summit in the other.

There was a time when 7AAA was a good volleyball conference.   Rutherford County volleyball hasn't developed like it should.  No reason for them not to be close to the level of 12AAA.   It's not even close.  Siegel is the only good program.

It's almost embarrassing how much talent was playing in the Williamson County tournament this week.  

 

My hats off to Page who was eliminated last night in a 5 set, winner take all, battle royale by a scrappy Ravenwood coach led by first year coach Abbey West.  Page is 30 students over the limit for AA so they get move up to AAA and into the toughest district in the state.  Page would hands down win AA this year if not moved. 

 

Ravenwood will make noise

 

Brentwood is Brentwood and starting to really turn up the heat.

 

Both these teams will easily advance next week.  See you In the Boro soon.
