Class 3A- Region 7

Through 7 weeks it is:

1. South Gibson 6-1 (3-0)

2.  Covington 5-1 (3-0)

3. Milan 4-3 (2-1)

4. Bolivar Central 5-2 (1-2)

5. McNairy Central 3-4 (0-3)

6. Westview 2-5 (0-3)

 

So, hows it gonna finish?

If McNairy beat Bolivar they had a legit chance to make it, but they didn't.

The fact that Covington has to travel to SGC and to Bolivar puts us at a disadvantage. If we were to lose both of those, then it's wide open. Milan could even win, right? 

But, my Chargers are playing well right now.

Really good question! several really big games left to decide the how the regions is going to play out.

I think SGC will one of the last 2 and be at home for a playoff game!

DO NOT overlook Milan. They are good and have alot of playmakers.

Not related to REgion 7, but (FYI) APSU just won three games in a row for the first time since 1986. 7-0 final over UTM. First shutout since 2004, and first winning record since 2010 (2-1, Week 3)

Had a buddy that went to college there. He had a shirt that he said he got from the school book store. It said, "Show your Peayness!!"

As far as the district standings go I am really surprised we are 2-1. I think we have been playing above our heads. We stink out loud. I think we will lose to SGC and it might not even be close. We have to go to McNairy and they have been playing really good ball so we will probably lose that one as well. Wouldn't surprise me if we didn't even make the playoffs.

I really like this region.  So many good teams and a few that used to be,

3 team race for 1st place in this region at this point. Covington has the best shot at this point. Sgc has the next best shot. Covington must win out to win the region and SGC must win out to win this region. Its funny how everyone ( including myself ) had bolivar as the favorite to win this region and now they have 0 chance of winning it. The SGC vs Covington game is looking like the game of the year for this region.
