You can't use the win over Meigs last night as a measuring cup. If you know anything about football you would know the chances of Rockwood holding Meigs to 8 points would have been unlikely if QB for Meigs doesn't get hurt. He would have scored 2-3 TDs" I guarantee it.

Tyner wins by a lot.

Should have, could have, and would have but didn't.  Your guarantee is pointless.  Meigs is sitting at home.  Rockwood won.  The only cup that matters is the cup with a W on it.

Keep doubting...but let's look at the common opponent.  Tellico.  Rockwood played them week 2.   Tyner played them week 8.  Both won.  The score was similar.  The difference is that Rockwood was a different team week 2 than now.  Ask Meigs.   Keep hating and keep doubting.  You are just mad that your sitting at home and Tyner and Rockwood are still playing.  Really and truly.  This game is going to be a close one and come down to turnovers.  Tyner is very good and deserves to be in the Semi Finals.  So does Rockwood.

The Rams have Mike Vick at qb. Also, if the kid from Hampton legit runs a 4.3 which I highly doubt then he has D1 offers from probably every school. That type of speed with pads is unheard of.

Hampton kid is a sophomore.   He ran down Rockwood's 4.8 Fullback with a 20 yard head start and it was for a 99 yard touchdown and caught him on the 1 going in.

LOL.... I'm not hating or doubting either one. The only way this is close is if Tyner is content with beating us last week. Rockwood deserves to be there because they did what they had to do to get to the semis. Am I mad we are sitting at home? You dang right I am, just like a group of kids that wear purple are. The run for 2018 starts today and Marion Co has enjoyed a lot of success and we expect to be back. Maybe the Warriors can meet up with your Tigers next year.

I would be willing to bet that the maddest person in the state of TN over Marion Co not making it to Cookeville is Bernard Childress. The TSSAA makes a killing off of our fans when we go.

    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
