 As long as supporting points are down near fall can be counted . As soon as supporting points are lifted the wrestlers are blown out of bounds the same as a takedown at the line With only the toes inbounds. That's what us officials  were told at the state meeting .

I spoke with a seasoned & veteran (college & high school) official this afternoon and he has assured me that the rule was very poorly written which is no surprise.  His feeling is that instead of just copying the college rule the NFHS once again decided to reinvent the wheel and write a completely new rule.  The problem with this is that often times the people on the rules committee are not true blue wrestling people and they do not consult with real wrestling people before implementing a new rule to be enforced.  The opinion is that the NFHS is going to catch so much grief over this rule they will rewrite it for next season to more closely mirror the current college rule.
