How about this playoff plan??

Glad to see the good folks of Kentucky recognize a winner when they see one....

I love the element of the "reveal" for the semi-final games.    I think most of the time the number 1 and number 2 teams are pretty clear so seeding them of opposite sides of the bracket makes good sense!

1. Greeneville

2. Marshall County

3 Haywood

4. Springfield

Semi-Final:

Springfield at Greeneville

Haywood at Marshall County

(At least that is how I would rank them.)   You could argue 2 and 3 flipping in the seedings, but I think most folks would of had 1 and 4 this way.

In 2A, I probably would of had the rankings like this after the quarterfinals:

1.  Union City

2. Columbia Academy

3. Tyner Academy

4. Rockwood

Semi Final:

Union City hosting Rockwood

Columbia Academy hosting Tyner

4. Red Bank

2. Greenback

3. Cornersville

4. Lake County

Semi-Final matchup

South Pittsburg would of hosted Lake County

Greenback would of hosted Cornersville

1. Beech

2. Knoxville Catholic

3. Knoxville Central

4. Brighton

*No change to the Semi-Final matchups.*

I understand there would of been more travel involved in some instances:   Many teams already are forced to stay overnight for Semi-final games anyway.   These games always land on the Friday following Thanksgiving, so schools are out and that wouldn't be a factor.    I think the excitement this would generate and the possibility of getting the best two teams in the State title game far outweigh the additional travel for the Semi-final games.   

Kudos to Kentucky for recognizing this.

I think you meant Black Friday as in the day after Thanksgiving. Good Friday is the Friday before Easter. Lol!!
