I asked someone in LC about Patterson and he said he had heard that Coach Sharpe and him were at odds right now.  Didn't know what happened just said he hasn't been around football much according to his son.  He said LC has had several coaching changes this past off-season...He said one took head job and took a coach with him and he thought another had taken assistant job at bigger high school in maybe Murfreesboro area.

That is not the situation. One young coach has accepted a job in Georgia and is leaving on great terms. Another Coach may leave for Oakland to coach with Coach Creasy, who he met through Coach Sharp. Unless Coach Patterson has something with his family he is at the field house everyday. All are looking to take a step up in a new job. If you look at the long list of coaches that have worked with coach Sharp you will see that most have left to go home or move up. He maintains a good relationship with them and I feel confident that he will be a sounding block for Coach Patterson if he get the job at Richland. Coach Patterson has always had a goal of being a head coach again and Coach Sharp will and has supported that.

I apologize if it came across wrong.  This person I talked to had nothing but GOOD things to say about Coach Patterson.  Just said was a little possible turnover this year at LC in regards to coaches, and he said it was people moving up or closer to family, etc.  Anyone who has coached for Sharp would definitely be a good one...kind of like a Saban, Meyer, etc. type background for HS coaches.  From what he told me it would also be a HOME RUN hire.  Like I said I apologize if my statement sounded bad, I may not have worded it in the best way.

I believe the potential for Richland to be competitive early  are very high with the hire of Coach Patterson.  There seems to be more administrative support than in the past. I know Coach Wright was a very good football coach for many years. If the community gets behind this program they could surprise some people this year.

  • 4 weeks later...

Not meaning to bump this thread but didn’t he flame out over there in Centerville? Three years there and went backwards all three years?

But, hey, he came from a program that was proud to play teams like ya’lls, Collinwood, Forrest and those other SMALL schools.

Good luck down there.

    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
