Happy Valley 2018

You cant talk about the 2018 season without first saying what a job Coach Jarrett has done at his alma mater. The kid literally saved the program from its mediocre levels under Shively and Verran. He is 25-11 going into his 4th year and 3-3 in the playoffs, with a run to the quarterfinals 3 years ago. This years group has 10 seniors which is about an average number for HV. The good : Offensively our pieces just fit better than they did last year, We have playmakers and lots of them. We struggled to score last year down the stretch. That shouldn't be a problem this year if healthy. The defense to my surprise has looked stout so far in all scrimmages despite not having a huge D line. The bad: We only have 1 lineman returning from last years starters but we do have a senior lineman who has come back to play his final year. If we don't stay healthy up front we could be in trouble. If I had one thing id like to see us improve on its keeping our head in the game when things go bad early. The Meigs Co game being a prime example of that. We lost to a better team and also lost our composure.

Meigs was really hyped up when they played you guys, at the start of that game your teams defense had the least points against them for the season in 2A. ( not sure where you finished ) but if your defense is anything close to last year you will have a good season again. Hope to see you in the playoffs again.

If this years group gets another game against Meigs this season will have been a success. Yall are my pick to get to the semi finals against Tyner and you should have done it last year if not for injuries.

I have to agree with you on thinking we may have been there had our qb not got hurt, but we will never know. Water under the bridge. And hopefully the team has that bad taste in their mouth all year long of remembering what it felt like to lose and play harder from it. Hope the desire to win is still there and the will not to give up under duress.

Also your team lost their games by a touchdown or less except the grace game if I recall correctly. You really were a good team last year.

We lost 14 to 7 to Johnson County. We were leading Grace 19 to  14 in the 3rd but lost 28 to 19. We lost to Sullivan North by 5 I think on a great last possession drive by their team.

I'm looking forward to our game at cland this year.  We return the nucleus of our team.  I look for an exciting night at Orr field

I saw that as well. Surprised you guys moved up so much. Did you retain a lot of starters from last year? Also Marion is higher than I thought they would be as well.

I don't know the exact number we lost but it was more than Meigs did. I will say this about HV this year, on offense this group will be fun to watch and better than last years offense. But we wouldn't be the favorite against Meigs. Even a down Marion County is still a player in the East.
