Yes and Huntland was beaten by Mt Pleasant who lost to Franklin Grace.

I wouldn't have said anything if you had put them at #10. But you put them at #8.

Ok.  I would have said something.  :)

True and mt plesant beat Wayne county  58 to 32 some crazy stuff going on

Agreed. But what would’ve happened if you put GB’s offense on the teams they beat by a few points? I know they’ve played good teams and have some good players but they aren’t ahead of GB just because they’ve beat a few good teams. But can they beat GB, of course.

I don’t deal in hypotheticals. I just look at the facts.

Heard the Huntingdon coaches were in middle Tennessee last Friday watching Cornersville & were  impressed with their speed on each side of the ball, very discipline with few mistakes. I think both teams understand the magnitude of this game

It was a good game to watch. Both teams still have to make it to round three, lets keep that in mind. I hope if they did make the trip down to frog bottom they had a good time and got some good scouting in. Now hopefully the Huntingdon faithful will understand what we have been talking about when we say that Cornersville is not the same team as last season either. Here is to making it past the first two rounds to have the opportunity to make the trip and the chance to play on the magic carpet.

Any games worth watching this week or next week?

Have what I think are a couple of important games in R5...not sure how good they will be. Mt.Pleasant@Moore Co. and Huntland@Richland. Both games have huge playoff seeding implications. Mt. Pleasant, Moore Co., and Huntland all 6-3 overall.

Bruceton and Mcewen play Friday night to see who gets the pleasure of going to Cornersville for the 1st round of the playoffs. Collinwood and Wayne Co. play for the right to host 1st round game. Probably the best matchup in the West will be Lake County taking on 2A TCA.

It’s just talk my friend. Some people just can’t debate I guess.

We both know why Alabama is number 1. They pass the eye test every Saturday. They also have the past 11 years to back up their number 1 ranking, regardless of who they beat. Both situations are entirely different when you add context. Greenback is probably the most talented team in 1A and is the favorite to win the gold ball. However, beating South Pitt/TC in back to back weeks is the most impressive thing anybody in 1A has done to this point. Again, rankings don’t mean anything on 10/23. So weird that you get fired up over some October rankings. You are quickly transforming into Huntingdon who needs to be told their pretty all the time.

I’m not getting fired up. I know Whitwell is a good team. I said they can beat GB. I was just trying to debate your point. And if you’re gonna start slinging around comments, let’s start with this.... you make it to the championship one year and you think you’ve “arrived”? Nah I don’t think so. And if we’re like Huntingdon, then it looks like you aren’t making it past the 3rd round.

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
