c'mon Dougie Downer,  give the kid some credit for working his butt off.  laser timers don't lie.

Adams has been working out with a trainer with NFL experience. They were said to be working on short burst of speed and straight ahead speed. It is certainly possible for an athlete to improve his 40 time by working on those areas.

I don't believe for a minute that he runs a 4.58, I don't care what the camp timer says, BUT I agree with everything else you said in your post!

LOL....certainly entitled to your own beliefs. We'll all assume the laser technology was accurate, along with the integrity of the Blue Grey organization.

His dad said he has been working on his speed starting late last year with that NFL guy, also said he spends time off the practice field working on his footwork with another former D1 player.

I think the Bonkers guy is just threatened by a kid who has legit and tested speed.

Maybe Bonkers can step away from squirrel recipe swapping and race #44 LOL?

He seems like an extremely negative person.

Wow #44 is one of your fastest guys on your team. Besides Graham of last year maybe 1 more or 2 more would run under 4.58. Maybe the 2 track kids and Booker. Possibly #12. 4.58 true time is moving. I wonder if Higgins ran under that in high school.  Great time but at his position his shuttle is probably stick out to scouts. Nevertheless heck of a time 4.58.

I’ve been trying to tell folks. Saw him flat run down 2 skill position players last year. The guys speed is legit.

GIJOE just proved my point because #44 cannot be one of the fastest players on the OR team. The guy is tough, he's good, he's a big time hitter, and he moves pretty well, BUT he isn't in the speed conversation with Graham and he CANNOT be among the fastest players on the team. And for the record, I don't care if Usain Bolt is training him, he doesn't run a 4.58. You guys are dreaming a fool's dream.

c'mon Dougie Downer, give the kid some credit. 4.58 laser timed.  Yes, he absolutely is one of the fastest players on our team .  Ask Joe, ask Coach Mitchell or Coach Minor, ask any of the coaches, and they will tell you it's legit.  Then you can argue with them instead of us Coach T guys who are just "dreaming a fools dream".  Lol.

According to many, it was his 1st ever running the 40 in HS...and also his very first time at the shuttle.

#44 was a soccer player, proof - his dad told me that at the beginning of last season. He only got into football because someone saw him kicking a football and told him he should try to be a kicker/punter.   I'm happy as heck he is here. I havent seen an instinctive hitter like that for a long while.

GI JOE proved what exactly LOL? 44 is one of the fastest players on the team...thats a fact we all know.

You are just a downer for some reason who has an issue giving credit to where credit is due.

Besides, he ran a 4.7+/- in 8th grade at his only timed combine. Ask his parents, maybe they can provide you with some certified timing record LOL so you can 'cool yer jets' on all the nay sayin.

I give him credit all the time. He's probably my favorite player on the team but he CANNOT run a 4.58 40! I don't care what the faulty laser says or what Willie says, or SweetScience says, what ORCat says, or ORDT says. He may be a lot faster than he was last year but even if he is, he's not a 4.58 sprinter!!  Y'all are dreaming a fool's dream!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
