That’s not the way it works. MHS won a first round game a few years ago by 4. We didn’t all of a sudden elevate Brainerd to the de facto second place team. The Maryville Oakland game went a lot like the Maryville  Cane Ridge game last year. There was an early big play and it snowballed. Whitehaven earned the Silver ball. MJ can get a patch for their letter jackets.

Don’t get butthurt because Maryville is ranked below MJ. I just happen to think they’d punch Maryville in the face, steal this girlfriends and let them wear the jackets with the patch you mentioned.

Agreed. Any time people think one game defines them as #2 in the state (when they didn't even get out of the quarterfinals), those people need a reality check.

Congratulations to Oakland though, I have a friend on that staff and they deserved it.

Butthurt is word for 15 year olds. 14-1. Almost perfect, but not.

In 2018 MJ was the only team that went blow for blow with the champ. In the end it was the only real challenge Oakland faced. Was at the game it was very evident how similar both teams looked. Only real advantage Oakland had over MJ was the kicker. And it was the difference in the game. Imo I gave Maryville the #2 spot for the victory against Oakland early in the season. I do think it's fair to say MJ earned the vote for #3 based on the finish in a "power ranking". Just my opinion. Go Bears!

If taking a shot at Oakland makes you feel better, by all means do it. MJ is on the east side of the bracket which is much tougher than the west. They had to go through the best team in the state. They scored 7pts and gave up 14... again to the best team in the state. Your team got their butts handed to them 38-⭕️.

Murvul not having Tee Hodge vs Oakland was a huge loss for the Rebel offense. IMHO he was their best player. Not taking anything away from Oakland, but let’s be real here...
