So it’ll be a long year for them playing in 5A against Soddy and Rhea. Lil ole etowah shouldn’t have the horses to compete, but I guess some big schools just don’t have the stallions like most do

After going 0-13 against McMinn County, Walker Valley dropped them from their schedule this year.  Walker Valley is actually a 6A sized school and will be moved up in the next reclassification.

Looking for Central to come out with something to prove. New coach, new players (22 Seniors), new attitude. I just think this first scrimmage means more to the Chargers. Walker Valley, being the 6A type school SHOULD dominate but will they? Looking for effort and toughness from Central this season.

And Central has some "horses." A backfield full of them. Can the Oline improve? We will see. That's where games are won/lost.

I’m sorry for being so naive, but who exactly are these “horses” you speak of? Jalen Hunt is the only workhorse that resides in mcminn county that I know of, and he doesn’t attend etowah.

3A shouldn't be able to compete well against a 5A.If its competitive it's already a win for Central even if they lose the game.

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
