You can’t look at those rankings as real. The metrics are WAY off. I wish there were real rankings posted somewhere.

Even though that team is ‘undefeated’ look at the schedule. Same teams over and over. District only schedule. There was a 1 loss team from the west that made it to state last year. In both of their games they didn’t even score in double digits in sets. So many of these little schools only play their district schedule against other tiny schools that can barely put a squad on the floor. If I see a team that has less than 20 matches I don’t count them for much. It means they haven’t played any tourneys and mainly stuck only to District schedule.

Based on all I know (in no particular order):

Loretto, Summertown, Harpeth, Hickman Co., Watertown and Sale Creek are the top 6 teams right now in single A. Too bad only 3-4 of them will make it to state due to sectional match ups.

I agree with you, take Meigs for example, just in there second year they win the district, but I really don’t know how good they are or the district is just bad. But I was told they beat Sale Creek in camp back in the summer.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
