How accurate is this depiction @PackOfWolves?

It is pretty accurate. We had a dangerous team last year, but didn't have enough leadership and mental toughness to do anything with it. So the focus has been on mental toughness, buying into the process, leadership, accountability, etc. This is why the schedule is what it is. You can't run from these teams if you want to be champions. Plus you have to figure out what it takes to win. Cordova is a young school (20 years), and we have not established a championship tradition or culture yet. Yes, we have won a few games in the past, but how many of significance? This is what coach is trying to instill. Toughness, confidence, pride, etc. A different mentality. Mediocrity will not be accepted. It is a measuring stick each week. Evaluate, correct, get better. We feel like we are much better than most people think. No, we are not the most talented team in 6A, but the key word is TEAM. We will see what happens.

Given that Oakland travels to Germantown pretty soon, I'm interested to see how this game turns out

Oakland was supposed to play both of these schools, but the TSSAA last minute decision to move Rockvale from 5A to 6A cost Oakland a home game vs Cordova and was replaced with an away game at Rockvale. Guess they didn't think Oakland needed the home gate.

Being that it means only 1 trip to West TN instead of two, I'll take it. Hard enough for Oakland to find willing teams to play so getting it down to just 3 non- region teams every year prolly makes Creasy's  job a little easier

    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
