Can the Cardinals Fly in Tornado Alley UC VS Adamsville

Region 7 action begins this Friday night with the Adamsville Cardinals trying to fly into Tornado Alley. I haven't heard much about this team this year, so I don't know what to say other than my Tornadoes are improving week after week. MLK wasn't much of a challenge for us on Friday night so I don't know how much we have truly improved. I think 48 First Half points is pretty good for anybody but I can't hang my hat on that for very long. So let's talk about this. What say you?

We shooting ourself in foot.  Dropped passes, fumbles, missed assignments, bad penalties, porr line play, poor receiving play, porr qb play, poor running back play, poor stat tracking, poor popcorn, poor etc, etc.  You get the point?

How’s the kicking game at least?

Sure you didn't watch the Scotts Hill/Dresden game? you just described the way we played ( I didn't try the popcorn ) pretty much, except for catching the ball.

The good thing is, that I know both our coaching staffs will fix our problems in due time... we're building back from really bad, and I think you'll allow me to say that about your team too, considering the benchmark y'all have set for yourselves over the last ten or so years. We (SH) will have to be patient... we can play good football, as I saw last week, but to be a good football team we will have to add athletes that aren't playing football now. I don't know if the root of your problems are that, or if you just have to get your athletes all on the same page, but Brandon will get done whatever needs to be done. I really think that we are two years away from "good", but Adamsville is closer than that.

This is a strange series in which the team that shouldnt win a certain year does !!! I havent seen Tha Ville but last year there was big linemen and athletes everywhere but they couldnt get past the injury bug !! So I amd others thought they would be back to old form and havent shown that "yet" !!! I will call a few buddies from down yonder way and give a prediction mid next week !!

I am Not hating. I respect Aville big time. But I think We are seeing a swing in the county. Kids are starting to go back to McNairy Central. I dont Think they are getting the athletes from Chester and Hardin county like years before. Sorry had to shake a little bush boss. But seriously this game will define Adamsville this year. I think Right now UC will take this one with old fashioned football.

I agree totally that some kids are rotating back into normal transitions from jr high.  It is also a swing in overall talent.  We have the kids and talent to be successful they just need to execute and get the job done.  We struggled with injuries last year and have a couple this year.  If we are weak anywhere it is at rb.  But we do that by committee most years anyway.  We have to quit making stupid mistakes.  Plain and simple.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
