Camden Central at Riverside

Camden Central goes to Riverside this week. Riverside finally has all its starters back after the preseason, week one and week two injuries. I can't figure out Camden this year. They have to be pretty good to have beaten Wavo, but Huntingdon rolled them again. I think it will be a good game. If RHS can beat Camden, that should add some confidence going into the playoff wind up. What do some of you neutral folks think?

First, the Waverly team that Camden beat bears no resemblance to them now, so I wouldn't make the mistake of gauging them from that game. Riverside hasn't showed on the field what I thought they would so far, but with everyone finally back, I figure them to at least compete with Camden... if for no other reason than their defense. Camden seems to be a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type team this year too. Long way around for me to say I have no idea other than I expect Riverside to give them all that they want.

What trader said about Waverly is true and Huntingdon is gonna roll alot of teams. I don't know much about Riverside this year so it be hard to predict a winner for me.

It was very competitive. The lead was back and forth.

Thanks. I predict Camden to win decisively then. Hickman barely beat Harpeth and Camden destroyed them.

Certainly could be wrong though. Sometimes teams vastly improve after a few games. I think Camden is pretty comparable to Waverly who just dusted Hickman.

Hope both teams come out healthy as we face Camden the next Friday for what will be the region championship.

@@38320 I wouldn’t  base Camden off that first game either bud. I wouldn’t sleep on them either. Camden has had split personalities for a couple of yrs now. The Riverside Camden game is usually a pretty competitive game. I’m like swarm if the Hickman game was close then I would have to say Camden by 7 and believe me it hurts to say that. I hope Riverside comes out and smacks them in the mouth! Y’all lost a lot of skill players just like waverly did but I would like to think y’all had some younger guys step up in their rolls. It might take a yr or two tho. Seems like there is a lot of teams down this yr. Good luck to you River Rats! 38320 I bet this is one of your favorite games on the schedule to play! Good luck bud.

Thanks vandy. This is one of my favorite games on the schedule. I'm glad Frost and Blow got the game back on after a few years not playing. Not a big rivalry but convenient travel and similar people. Although Camden is 3A (and should be 2A IMO) and we are 2A, it usually seems to be a good game. I hope it is this year as well.

Not for sure yet but definitely Leaning riverside. Lot of injured players back and that helps obviously. All about finding that identity after losing keY players and think they are. Defense has been doing well but still got to shore it up. In the loss to Lewis had good success then they would have a good play on third down. Much like Hickman did last Week. Lot of third down conversionS and it kept them TheM in the ballgame. Camden will try to pound To pound it Riverside will have to stop it and put points on the board

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
