So much for turning the season around,White House just lost to Westmoreland in 1st round. Season over. Nobody in this district can win the region imo, Sycamore might win 1 game but I just don’t see them winning more than that.

That is insane. Gotta give Westmoreland credit. I agree it’ll be hard for Sycamore or any other 9-AA team to win more than a game in region but just like we saw tonight anything can happen come tournament time! Good luck to the rest of the teams in the district tourney!

Right. Any of us who played high school basketball I am sure feel bad for a team full of seniors to have their season cut "short."  Give all the credit to Westmoreland, Only winning what like 4 games all year to this point. Big win for their program.  Keeping it real, Sycamore now the only team left that has a chance to win a region game. I highly doubt the other side will allow games to be in the high 30's and low 40's. If this district ever wants to compete in the region, they need to open up the game, shoot the three, and be able to survive up tempo game styles and pressure.  This district continues to just play slow old school basketball, which allows them to beat each other in the district. Sadly that's where district 9AA's train ends. The District Tournament.

^^ This right here! Coaching isn’t good enough to overcome the overall talent discrepancy between 9AA and 10AA. Talent isn’t good enough to force a change.
District ‘ship is the 9AA Super Bowl

I agree 100 percent and it’s boring. Cheatham had a few teams that could compete and actually made sectionals 2 yrs in a row but since then nothing.
If 10aa sweeps I wouldn’t be surprised. Sycamore still has Point guard issues to me, and increased tempo and pressure will make it worse.

Those were GREAT Cheatham teams. Had some athleticism, and a GREAT shooter. And one of the hardest working, hard nosed kids I seen play around here in a young Douglas back then. I also believe they had a quick as a cat point guard on those teams.

Cheatham is well coached. Always dangerous in tournament. Now opportunity to make championship with the westmoreland upset, and possibly win with home court, and if you don’t know, you should know. When those Cheatham schools get together it is a war.

Cheatham upset the 3 seed Heritage tonight by 3 in overtime! This tournament is already off to an interesting yet crazy start!

Refs called a 2nd delay of game with 20sec left after a made Heritage bucket to put WHH up by 2. Cheatham made both FT's to tie the game and also got the ball. They were unable to score, but fouled Heritage on the rebound with .01 seconds left.

Heritage post player at the line... 1 and 1 for the win! Clank.

Game went to overtime. Cheatham closed the deal with a corner 3 with about a minute left.

    • What you are saying is true about high school athletics being a privilege and not a right, but NO ONE ever knows what will happen if a case goes before a jury.  Again, I have been in a couple of jury rooms and it's always a little crazy.  That is why my prediction is you will see a settlement before the case goes to trial.
    • What rules does everyone not operate by?
    • So you want a have and have not split? Sound like the perfect ramp to elitism. Tell those rural kids that they'll never be able to compete with those urban kids. They're not good enough right? Or we could just do what travel baseball does and have tournaments every weekend and give kids big fake rings for winning a few games. The suburban public schools are typically the ones with more funds. Urban and rural schools have more in common in finances than they do with rural schools. I've taught and coached in all of it. The difference is attitude. But if you're jsut going to say you can't compete because you don't have the money then that's an excuse. Especially in basketball. The balls are the same size, the rims are the same height and size. The ball dribbles the same in some rural gym in mountains as it does in the FedEx forum. Charters come and go like a fart in the wind. They are no real threat to anyone. Magnets could be but rarely do they win either. It just hasn't been seen in Tennessee.
    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
