Two state power house teams go at it tonight. Associated Press #1 and still defending back to back State chumps Greeneville against the #2 Team in the state Elizabethton (better known to Devilman as Betsy) will go at it tonight. Which team will come away with the victory? The cyclone can not only stay undefeated but also secure home field playoffs. No Greeneville team has went to the state with two losses and won. This could spell the beginning of the end for the Devil Monster and any future dreams of a 3 peat.......can you say yesssssss

I think it will be closer than what Greeneville is comfortable with. Youngblood is a beast as is their playmakers. But if we were taking Devilman as gospel EHS needs to not even show up. According to him they have a better kicker, they have better skill players, they have better coaching, they have better color schemes, they have a nicer field, they have the better pedigree(recently) their waterboys/girls are better and their cheerleaders cheer louder and their losses are always justified by a million excuses. I think that about sums it up.

Joking aside, if EHS wants to win they need to take advantage of the Greeneville penalties and make the best of any potential turnovers. Also on offense we will need to mix it up, we have a good passing game but our run game can be just as dangerous once it gets rolling. We don't have a Youngblood but for what we lack in trucking power we have more than enough speed to make it work.

I agree I believe the cyclones have what it takes. And if they can capitalize on Greenevilles mistakes amd penality prone plays they should be able to pull this one out. Greeneville plays there best football the 2nd half. Cyclones play good enough then Greeneville has a new momie called Betsy.

Greeneville has improved a lot since the Powell, Daniel B, and even the SH game. They will have a strong full complete game. This will be their best game thus far this year.  If I was going to count on something it wouldn’t be penalties, but I would count on - Laying the Wood Greene Devil Style.

Facts are facts jim. I guess elizabethton is better than maryville and Oakland and Alcoa. All he had to say was elizabethton is a good team but dont go saying stuff that is not true.

So how do you know that Elizabethton is not better than Powell? Just wondering since they have never played.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
