While I love the home and home series; part of me wishes this game was still played at MTSU. Those crowds of 15-20K were amazing back in the day.

That would be nice, but with so many schools in the city now we struggle to fill our own stadium. Playing Riverdale  there in 1998-2000 was awesome, other than that I don't really miss playing at Middle

The 1998 QF game was the largest HS football crowd I've ever been a part of.

Probably a statement that most people that attended will echo. Crazy thing is our biggest challenge in the playoffs was against Cumberland Co. in the 1st round. As someone that started following Oakland during some pretty bad years, beating Riverdale in 1998 was pretty surreal and I can remember more about that game that than the title win over Hendersonville

Not a close game, Riverdale has proven to be a hoax this season..,. Although I knew it all along! Sorry LOD.

Nothing to be sorry about.  Oakland has worked hard for their rank and position.  I would never bad mouth that.

While R'dale is not yet back where I would like to see them, they are working on it.  That's all I will ever ask of them.

Now how are the dogs at Oakland this year?  They still as big and tasty as years gone by?

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
