Lol..I see what your trying to do. Its not the same and not even relevant to this board. What bothers people in Cookeville is a very good prescott team all mostly went to upperman. Juniors now. Its not unusual for prescott kids to go to upperman it is probably closer than cookeville high. They were ju.st expected to go to CHS. These arent tuition students. Just putnam county kids thst preferred uhs over chs. Im sure quite a bit of that goes on in Blount. Considering the other 2 schools football records. My gripe is kids that live outside the county that are trasported in daily.

Sooo what you are saying is because Alcoa and Maryville charge a tuition for out of zone kids that makes them cheaters and should go private but since Upperman lets those out of zone kids in without charging them then they are ok?  That is just plain stupid.  It sucks that the Gold ball goes to those 2 schools every year and I am sure they do some shady things (like a lot of school I might add) but that analogy makes zero sense.

County school system vs. City/Independent school system.  Please don't use a false equivalency argument.  My son goes to a city school and the disparity between that school and the county district is incredible in all aspects from academics, campus life, and athletics.

Not saying I disagree and not making any argument.  Just not sure what makes a rural school versus a non rural.  would be hard to align I would think

No. You guys like to twist it up. Putnam and Blount if Im not mistaken have pretty much the same rules. If a kid from anywhere within Blount or putnam wants to go to any high school in that county the county is ok with it. Nothing you can do in that format it happens..While maryville and Alcoa both benefit from this more than schools in putnam. Because they have more schools and the other schools programs are bad. But nothing wrong with that. They have been dominant for long stretches of time. Its the kids that dont live within the county. And it doesnt make them cheaters. Because there are no rules against it. Their should just be a cutoff point. Over 20% of your students driving in from other counties daily is absurd. That does not take place here and never will. People have to much pride in their communities for that much to travel. What is happening there is 1 out of every 5 kids is from another school system. The kids that are paying tuition are those kids. That is more typical of what private schools do than public schools.

No its not. And i would think you would be intelligent enough to get my point. Even tho your a homer. What he is saying is completey different from my point. Kids that play basketball at uhs live in putnam county. Its open zone they can go whereever they want. Putnam county charges tuition for kids that live outside the county. Zero uhs bball players are tuition. Over 20% of your schools total enrollment is from outside the county. They pay tuition. That numbers needs to be capped at like 5%-10%. No reason for more than that.

I think his point was-Alcoa charges tuition for kids that live inside the county as well, meaning being an in-county , but out off zone student in Alcoa has more restrictions than being an in-county, but out of zone student at UHS.

"Zero uhs bball players are tuition."  Yet some are still out of zone. Out of 10 players on the 1st and 2nd string, how many are OOZ? Just curious.

Of the 20%, most do not play football. To be a tuition student at Alcoa, you have to meet several criteria, including maintaining a certain GPA, no discipline issues, etc and you are interviewed before you are accepted.

Think about what you said about the 10%. If you cap it at 10% that's 65 kids.   I promise you there are not 65 tuition kids on the Alcoa Football team.

Almost all of the tuition students at Alcoa are in county. In county but out of zone Alcoa students pay tuition...Trust me on this one. lol

I would agree that all open zoned schools should be in with privates not just Alcoa and Maryville

Over 90% of the schools would move to the private classifications.....:roflolk:

Might as well as do way with classifications! Which is fine with us Alcoa fans, cause they'd still be whipping tails on the football field and we'd still get to laugh at the winers here, all wanting champions of live trophies!:thumb:

BC, you mean to tell me that not only are some of the bball Bees out of UHS zone, but some are also from outside the Putnam county lines?.....Surely that can't bee correct?

Thanks for clarifying the difference.  We do not charge if they are from within the county. So most of your tuition students are from within the county? And most of that 20% number is also BC kids? Thats a completely different scenario then what was said in the past.
