Correct. However, you can go look at everybody's schedule and, for the most part, they will look eerily similar. Most schedules have more teams under 500 then above.

That being said, what SW did against Houston was eye catching to say the least. They put 45 on the board. You may overlook it and diminish the quality of competition, I'm not.

I'm just saying Houston didn't have the toughest non region schedule by any means. What would be more concerning for Southwind is they gave up 50 points in that game. 50 points is a lot. Dyer County can score 50 they have done it numerous times this year.

Houston is the highest scoring Offense in all of Shelby County averaging almost 43 ppg. SW is the 3rd highest scoring Offense in Shelby County averaging over 37 ppg. If Dyer can score then that tells me that this game will be high scoring.

SWs defense is giving up on average a little over 21 ppg. Go here

I like SW winning this the more we talk about it.

This is probably one of DC's best defenses that has come through the school in I don't know how long. I think Southwind doesn't stand a chance against this D. Their RB is 100% a threat, but they have locked up better teams/players than this all year. The biggest question mark for DC is are they capable of throwing the ball. I think LaQuentin Wells may be one the best backs in West TN that should've/ could've made an argument for Mr. Football. He will get his points. It comes down to whether or not the passing game develops. I think it does this week and you see the Scoreboard light up all night long and DC comes away with the win.

DC: 34

Southwind: 13

I have said on here that Southwind has a special group of RB's and there is no doubt about that but Dyer County has been very stout defensively and no way Southwind scores in the 40s or even 30s.

Let's look at common opponents.

Dyer County:

DCHS 54, Kenwood 0 ... Nov. 1, 2019

DCHS 32, Kirby 10... Nov.8, 2019

Southwind:

SW 20, Kirby 0 ... Sept. 20, 2019

SW 55, Kenwood 13 ... Nov.8, 2019

No clear advantage here. Eerily similar.Home field goes to SW.

True but it also shows that DC slightly has a better offense and slightly better defense if u went by this!

You have to be careful with margin of victory in blowout wins. You have to witness the game and see how scores come. However, it's more similar then an advantage. SW held Kirby scoreless and the margin of victory is the same. Slight edge to DCHS but really there is no real advantage either way.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
