May not have to wait until next year...AA has more parity in this area than it has in a while. I can see Greeneville beating any of the teams in this area of the state. There’s usually 2 or 3 dominant teams but not this year.

Well, they beat Grainger by a point, but got clobbered by South Greene a few days later. Greeneville couldn't buy a bucket in the 3rd Quarter of that game. Still, your point is well taken. Greeneville is young but pretty good sized (and growing). Let's not forget Coach Annette Watts, she gets the max out of her players.

Agree with you about Coach Watts - she gets the most out of her players and I am surprised that she doesn't get more players from the county who want to play for her.  With 10 years of College Coaching experience - she know and understands the game.  She only has 2 Seniors and 0 Juniors - this will be a fun group to watch the rest of this season and the next 3 seasons.

Is Tellico Plains the team that every one says there schedule is not strong and they are 5? North Green has beat a Gatlinburg Pitman and South Green by double digits and they are 21? I don’t put a lot of stock in their rankings after the top three. I agree with the top three.

Tellico lost to Wartburg tonight.

County kids have to pay tuition. That may be one factor. Traditions run strong—especially at a school like South Greene.

If Greeneville starts getting a lot of attention (it takes winning) things may change. SG plays Greeneville again later this month. It should be a good game.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
