Clinton shuts football down over COVID-19, cancels games against Meigs County, Powell

This whole virus situation has got to have coaches on pins and needles. What happens if your big three (Powell, West, Oak Ridge) or Central, SD, or others get down to the last 2-3 weeks and an outbreak closes them down for two weeks? Every region game counts right now. And I have a question someone can answer (and I may have missed this somewhere) if a team has a game dropped because of the virus but picks up a game with someone else., there's no forfeit, right? If Powell can pick up a replacement for Clinton, is there no forfeit, meaning Powell loses a region game in the standings? Someone help me out!

That is a great question. I haven't seen the protocol for that scenario.

Powell and Clinton both have 10/16 open, the game will be played on that date. This was part of the board of control contigency plan. The other part was is if a region game was missed and the teams had a non region opponent on the same day then the non region games would be replaced with the make up region game.

Not playing for 2 weeks isn't fun at all. But I'm afraid this is a sign of things to come. Especially around playoff time. I hope and pray that I'm wrong.

Really hate to see any team have to shut down. I hope Clinton can come back for the Oak Ridge game, and I hope they can play a rescheduled game with Powell since they both are open that week. 

Kids have got to understand this darn virus is highly contagious in open air, especially indoors in confined spaces and putting space between each other.  Also wearing the mask is important, that is the only weapons they have against this thing right now.  So don't scuttle your season to Covid, its winning too much already.
