SportsnetWriter2
The Wildcats are coming into Wallace Black Field with a 1-0 record to take on a 1-2 Harriman team. I honestly can’t say much about Monterey but I do have some insight on Harriman. Both of the Blue Devils losses have came from two quality teams (Kingston & Coalfield both 2-0). The addition of Jordan McCullum at receiver and Brady Stubbs in the secondary has been a big boost. Harriman had their chances on Friday but couldn’t make the stops on crucial downs and a few miscues on offense cost them. One thing that has to be cleared up at practice this week is containing the outside and stop getting sucked. Our ends have to CONTAIN if we want any chance of beating any of the better teams 8 we’ve got left on our schedule. The one other thing is dropped calls. Can’t be looking 20 yards up the field when we haven’t even secured the pass. We’ve got to sure in the catch then start looking down field. History has proven that’s it’s usually a good football game even these two match up and I expect no less this Friday night. I’m taking my Devils in a close one! Harriman - 29 Monterey -20 GO BIG BLUE!!!
rtl112
Monterey is usually not a bad team. I'm going to say Harriman by 6. I was impressed with several of Harrimans ballplayers. I didn't expect the air raid that we got. Did Harriman throw the ball that much in their first couple of games.

Ever since ‘16 we’ve transitioned to more of a spread team. We usually had multiple backs that were capable of carrying the load, so we ran quite a few read options from different formations of the spread. This year we’ve got about 1 back that’s got experience and truly ready to play when it matters so he’s shouldering the load alone unlike past years where we’ve had multiple backs you would see carrying the ball throughout the game. So because of the one back approach we’ve went with the pass. We’re not where we want to be yet but we have a lot of raw talent out there and they’ve shown a lot of promise. They’ve improved each game and that’s huge as a couple haven’t played organized football before. I truly think the last 3 or 4 games we will have got loose ends tied down and we should see our best ball around then. Just my thoughts though. Good luck, you guys will be tough to handle as the year goes on I do believe. Edited September 9, 2020 by rtl112

Same for you guys! Y’all seem to have a ball player in the Lowe kid. He runs hard and hits the hole quickly and efficiently.

Harriman - 29 Monterey -20 GO BIG BLUE!!! Hello SportsnetWriter2. Harriman has looked good in all 3 games they've played for sure! Our Wildcats are very young this year with only 3 starting seniors and last week was the first time this year they have had any kind of physical contact with another team. I've been at several practices and of course the game last week with Red Boiling and the team as a whole is a work in progress. I'm anxious to see how they stack up against a quality opponent like the Blue Devils! I think the game will be very close 2-3 point swing in either direction, however since my blood is "purple & white" I'm going with my Cats... PiRaTe._.MiKe
I’ve been racking my brain for the past week trying to remember a great football player from Harriman that played at TN who was underused and underrated. He ended up playing Pro for several years and I think coaches now somewhere. Jermaine Copeland. I finally remembered his name. Does he ever come back around and talk to the kids? If I'm not mistaking, Harriman made it to the State title game with Copeland at Qb. His boy played a few years back as Harrimans running back. One may still be playing.
