Now that the state has lifted the group restrictions, does that mean that schools will be able to sell as many tickets for games as the want???

They can now. The governor said that didn’t apply to high school football. The tssaa made “recommendations” as to capacity put there are schools all across the state that have been selling all the tickets they can this whole season.

Thanks, did not know that. I was under the impression that each stadium had a certain amount of tickets they could sell depending on stadium size. I also thought that TSSAA had said something about fining school and making them forfeit games if they didn’t follow those rules.

That does apply to temperature checks and masks but not to stadium capacity and concession sales.

The stadium restrictions were left to local authorities and school administrators, with recommendations considered from TSSAA. Personally, we taped off staggered sections of seats as "reminders" and sold tickets to whomever showed up. Administrators loosely monitored capacity vs. attendance, and people actually followed the seating arrangement to a degree... have to say that masks weren't a popular choice among spectators, but our board had already determined that we could politely ask, but not demand that they be worn... this is still America, and the public does still own the school.

I would like to see all the schools start allowing in more people. If someone is worried about  social distancing then they can find a spot away from everyone else or just not come to the game. I know we require a mask and temp to get in the gate but is not strictly enforced once inside.  We are on the road this week for a region game and they are only allowing us 150 tickets.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
