Exactly. Anyone who thinks Bruceton nearly beat Huntingdon doesn't know anything about the game except the final score. Bruceton didn't get the ball past the 50 until the 4th quarter I believe. Huntingdon had several long drives that petered out due to either turnovers or penalties.

It was a very sloppy game. Probably Huntingdon's worst game of the year. But if you dive down into the stat sheet, it wasn't as close as what the score implies.

That being said, there's no doubt Cornersville can beat Huntingdon if they play like that again. But that version of the Mustangs seems to have disappeared at halftime vs Camden. Playing much better ball than they were early in the year.

Don’t think Cornersville can stop Huntingdon or score with them. Expect this one to be over by halftime.

Here's the deal--this isn't the first rodeo between these two teams. 2017 Huntingdon came to Cornersville in what turned out to be an epic, hard hitting, down to the wire ball game. 2018 in Huntingdon, same type of game. 2019, Cornersville had it handed to them. Both teams know what the other will bring. Sure there will be wrinkles and "eye candy", but in the general sense for both teams is they are going to line up and play their style of ball and it will be up to the other side to stop it. I honestly feel like this game will be closer than some think. No smack talking from me this year. I believe respect has been earned from both sides.

Man you won't get any out of me either. After this year when we move on back to 2A, the word Cornersville will still resonate in Huntingdon for years and years to come. Its been fun!

I feel like Huntingdon chances of getting to Cookeville are fairly good. I also think there's a chance they get beat in the first round. Mustangs have keep fumbles and penalties at a minimum to advance. I expect every game to be a dogfight.

I was proud of what the dogs did Friday night. Took adversity and over came it. Too many missed opportunities against region opponents this season, which is why we are in the 4 spot. Bulldogs need to keep penalties and fumbles at a minimum as well to have a chance. Excited for another big matchup with the mustangs.

Opening kickoff - good return for huntingdon. First play from scrimmage turnover on a fumble. Cornersville takes over near midfield. First play for C'Ville fumbled exchange between QB and RB. Huntingdon gets the ball back. Puts together a nice drive for a TD

6-0 Huntingdon.

Cornersville goes 3 and out

Huntingdon 2 plays for another TD.

14-0 Mustangs

7:07 left in first

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
