My prediction is that we come out a little slow early on offense. Seeing how we do have a few new kids in new positions. And depending on how our defense responds and I hope a couple changes of personal, before now and the end of the game, we come out victorious.

We=Waverly

What are you hoping to see different on defense?  Coach Wall is petty solid and seems to had them very good last year. I couldn’t imagine this year being much different. We really didn’t lose much other than the two Bradys and a couple lineman.   44 is going to be a stud at LB with 24 from what I am hearing.

I was very impressed with Wall and his defense as well, the defense was fire on all cylinders did the most part last year. As you said they will have to replace both Brady’s, and brock and dalton tucker on the d line, I’d imagine so more young kids will have to step up on the d line this year and at corner to feel Brady’s spot. Did they lose both corners to graduation or is Brooks still there?

Brooks is still there. All three safeties, two strong and free, one line backer and another that played a ton. One transfer LB and one D end from last year I believe. I may be missing someone.  I think both sides of the ball are strong. We have a lot of experience there. The line on both sides seems to be the lesser experienced. I’m optimistic if we don’t get beat by the virus. I think the virus may beat all of us this year.

Both d ends return this year, one of them shared playing time at the spot with Mayberry last year. The defense was young last year, only 5 seniors, 4 juniors, and 2 freshman. Both those freshman are ball players too, I’m hoping to see another strong defense this year. I do unfortunately believe you are correct abt the virus. It’s gonna be rough on teams this year all the way around. Gotta stay positive.

Guys suckamore will be lucky if they score 6 tds all season. This might be the worst offense I have ever seen. Their defense is just as bad. They gave up 3 tds in 6 plays vs Northeast on friday.

Maybe the oc will fight the other coaches and scare everybody in the locker room and save face.  My boys hated playing for him a couple years back

I watched Heritage in 2 of their scrimmages and I saw some video of their Jamboree against Community. They struggled up front on both sides of the ball. Games are won in the trenches! I would be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t worried about this season. It’s almost a repeat of last season. I don’t know anything about the Patriots first opponent Allen County-Scottsville. I just know Heritage better bring their A-Game! I’m hoping I get surprised Friday night. The game is being played in Bowling Green @ Warren East on the Blue Field.

Good news in Waverly. The School Board has elected to reduce their strict Covid Policy. Our boys have a real chance to play every game this year. Comes at a loss as Waverly has already missed 2 preseason scrimmages this year. They were contact tracing any and everyone. The high school looked like a ghost town.

I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
