We was looking forward to playing them Thursday! Well now we get to host the region 7AA championship thanks Westview!

Westview got hot in the 3rd. One kid (Allen I think) hit 4 threes back to back to back to back possessions and Westview never looked back. South Gibson was up 1 at halftime. Anderson for Westview surprised me tonight as well. That kid is an athlete and can play. Westview fights and never gives up. They have come a long way since I saw them the beginning of the season

Yea I thought Dyersburg was the best team in 13AA this year! Boy was I wrong! We played horrible tonight & won by 17. We missed 17 free throws & missed 5-7 point blank range baskets that we make 9/10 times. We played passive tonight & we turned the ball over a lot tonight but we caused even more turnovers. They have 1 player that can create his own shot & we had him on lock. I believe he had 9 points.

Westview was the #1 seed in that district coming out of their regular season.  Can someone from that side explain to me why everyone is seeing them winning and being in the regional final an upset?

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
