West Ridge Coaching Staff

I heard this morning that Sam Haynie is leaving for Science Hill along with his son an incoming freshman. The only other coaches I know for sure is Copas from North is on the staff.

Your probably close with the 5-5. I would say not too bad for their 1st season.   Looking forward to see how they do.   

What does Boone having coming back this year?  Don’t they have a D1 prospect coming back for the o-line/d-line?   I think his 1st name is Payton a senior?

Boone's defense will be pretty stout, offense will be more like run/run/incomplete pass/punt.    I don't think any D1 guys exist at Boone this year, but I sure hope whatever you heard is true!

Anyone heard how practice/scrimmages have went? Listened to the Sports Monster who was on site for Media Days talk to the principal who stated that they have had numerous out of zone applications for enrollment and it's pushing the number of enrolled towards 2100. That was suprising. He stated the football stadium is not finished and there would be other additions such as a Video Board etc. Talked about the LED lights (field lights) being able to "do something" with them. Had to go to work and missed the interview with HC Hilton. Kpt times news stated they have 95 players dressed. Glad to see there is excitement. Hope that translates to the field.

Scrimmaged Betsy last week and scrimmaging Greeneville tomorrow.   No doubt two of the best teams in this area so they should know where they stand real quick.    West Ridge scored several times against Betsy and held their own on D.  BUT Betsy play calling was very limited (to protect health of  Betsy QB I assume).   I do like the fact they are scrimmaging top competition so the kids will not be shell shocked by 6A speed. 

Greeneville is probably the cream of the crop in NET this year so this scrimmage will be great experience for this team.
