It looks nice! Covington has always had a great football program. I know our neighbors are proud of it.

I got my first look at the Covington Athletic Field today, and it looks great!  In addition to Covington, Brighton and Munford have new turf fields as well. 

As we all know, athletics has a positive effect on academic performance along with the skills necessary to become a successful adult and citizen.  Playing sports instills self-discipline, teamwork, problem solving skills, life skills, sportsmanship, motivation to succeed etc…

These facilities should encourage even more students to take part in athletics and other extra-curricular activities. The county will reap huge benefits from the money invested in this venture for a long time.  As Coach Kirby said in the article linked below, “There are endless possibilities.”

I commend the Tipton County BOE and the citizens of Tipton County for supporting their youth, community, and athletics.  With the arrival of new workers with Ford’s Blue Oval City, excellent schools and excellent facilities are going to be a top priority.  Tipton County has both.

The Covington field looks great, and Munford and Brighton got the same turf. 

I can’t wait to see the season opener when Munford visits Covington on Thursday, August 18.
