If we win Monday night,  we will play Newport on thursday feb. 3.  at John sevier.  Our posts are playing bad right now.  We almost let the area 1 tournament slip away.  Beat Hampton in overtime 37-32.  My daughter hit 6 free throws in overtime

All 4 district 1 teams could be ranked in the top 10 and it would be fair assessment.  North greene losing at home is akin to a Democrat making a good decision.  It just don't happen

They deserve to go down.  I've watched their games on their YouTube channel and they would be up by 30 or 40 and still press with their starters.  I hope Newport wins

I guess Happy Valley was a closer drive for Carter County people also.

1. Newport 

2. Rogersville 

3. west view 

4. North Greene

Hunter is not bad.  They have a guard #13 and post #22 that score most of their points.  They all handle the ball good and they hustle.  They don't have anyone real quick but none of them are slow.  They are hard to score on.  

In both our games,  we won 38-16 and 39-13

King, any idea why Unaka an Central decided not to play in the area tournament? Both of them beat Little Milligan each time that played, and in the small school tournament, didn't they? Just curious.

That's a good question.  Maybe they just chose to call it a season.  I thought unaka could've caused Sulphur springs some problems but now they have an easy game with little milligan.  Beats me?

      TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
