If this season is able to play out and all the best 4A teams stay healthy, here is the way I see it. No disrespect to any other team including Elizabethton ,but Greeneville has a chance to be one of two teams come playoff time. They can be scary good and nomatter if most teams had another weapon or two,Greeneville would still be extremely hard to beat. The second option is the one that I was thinking about during the game last night. Make all those mistakes and then add a few turnovers ,that could be terrible against a team playing really good on that night. What I'd like to see is the Devils play their best and clean up those mistakes all year.If they do that and Elizabethton or any other team beats them in the playoffs, then you know the Devils lost to a great team this year.Once again, best of luck to Betsy until or if our teams play again.

Great post and I think this Betsy team will get better after the beating they took last night. No matter what happen this year Betsy will continue to be a good team to come and the middle school team this year is going to be scary good when they get to the high school.Good luck to the Devils the rest of the year.

Mavericks are still in the hunt...still some work to do but will be ready.

Just based on common opponents at this point AC is still way down the line. Betsy beats Science Hill by 19, then AC loses to Science Hill by 15. I’m not picking a winner here but it appears that is a lot of getting ready to do to play with Betsy. Much less Greeneville.

Wow! Sounds like I offended everyone! That's a good sign lol. No way should you use Science Hill as a measurement. Trust me. Haha

Mavsinflight AC is going to have to play an almost perfect game with some Devil mistakes if AC meets us this year.  Greeneville has more speed than Fulton and a dominate line and D to go with it.  There is a reason they finished 2nd in the 4x100 this past season in track in the largest classification, all football guys at that.  To many weapons to shut down.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
