Ours should be a pretty good ball game in a few weeks I believe. Did Rockwood have their QB1 back last night? Heard he was gonna be but I kinda doubt a broken leg healed that fast so I’m getting bad intel one way or the other.

I was told the qb #2 got hurt in the Sweetwater game and wouldn't play. He didn't play the first half and only played defense when he did play. He definitely wasn't at full strength. He probably didn't need to be in. I can tell you rockwood has a lot of speed. #’s 1,4,9 had more speed than we've seen this year. They could be a nightmare if all cylinders are firing. #4 played qb and had two nice 40 years throws for receptions.

Yes they have speed. We play them every year and if the QB1 is healthy they’re much more dangerous. We always have a nail biter with RW. Doesn’t seem to matter who is better or by how much we always seem to go to the wire with them. Just an old rivalry.

I’m going 14-7 Oneida. I watched York at Monterey and nether team was very impressive. This region is hard to pick, I thought Monterey was looking like the favorite but they lost to Stone, so I have no idea lol

MHS picked a bad night to play bad against Stone. No one looked good. MHS bounced back against Rockwood. Next big test is Oneida.

We have Rockwood and Monterey back to back in 2 and 3 weeks respectively. With 2 region wins we are almost guaranteed a playoff spot unless Warburg runs the table and we lose both. Either or both I guess could happen but with our last 2 region games we’re looking for an extra home game or two if we can find another win or two. Region is starting to get more interesting.

Wartburg seems to go to the wire with ya ever once in a while when they shouldn't.

Same thing in 2012. We were a pretty good football team and narrowly slipped out with a 6-0 win and had to turn back a last minute drive deep into our territory then. That one was at wartburg to. We were 9-2 that year losing to Boyd in round 2 who was a semifinals team losing to FC on their way to a title I believe.

I remember that one, it surprised the heck out of me like this year.

Similar team then to now. Ton of potential and a lot of inconsistencies. Oddly that years other loss was GB who y’all beat in round 2 and we beat y’all that year then barely squeaked out a win at WB SMH.

Totally off subject here, but I did some business up in Oneida a couple of weeks ago and it’s a beautiful place.

I met a blind gentleman that owned a lawnmower business up there that I was really impressed with.

Do you happen to know his name? The guy really impressed me on how well he knew the goings on of that business.

It took me a while to realize he was blind in fact. Swore I would not forget his name, but I did.

When you guys do get it together, I would hate to be the team that's in your way.  I sort of agree with Onblk that  Oneida has the potential to be a real good team.  I've seen some big turnarounds  at Cf over the years. They were many years that GB would beat us in the regular season but we would exchange the favor in post season.  The big monkey on their back has been removed in a big way.

You met the one and only Mearle Marcum. He’s an outstanding man and a great businessman as well.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
