At least you are one of the few that admits that the core of Alcoa is rarely from Alcoa

The core is and will always be the kids of 13 streets and the ones growing up in the shadows of Goddard Field.  They are the ones that built the program to the point even country boys from straw plains wanted to be part of it.

Well, I was mistaken for believing you were one of the ones that would admit that your teams are made up of WAY more than the kids of 13 streets. Check your roster this year, top 2 QB's, top 2 lineman and the 1 country boy from Straw Plains are just a few that don't even know how to get to 13 streets......

I poked around a little bit, don't get on the 1a board to much. I see you're a Hampton guy....

"Might ought" try scheduling some tougher competition yourself....

#LIGMA

Not knocking the Hornets, its just not like Coalfield is playing Oakland. Very average school in your classification.

You got 5.............. not sure how you get 2 top linemen when the best lives in Alcoa? But OK. Ha! what about the other 54 players! :thumb: No doubt about Elijah Cannon, he is very special, as was Tristen Blankenship.

Too bad the greenmachine can not keep their interest.B)

You right, you right! Them other 54 boys from 13 streets enjoy standing over there jumpin up and down when all those other boys are on the field making plays.

None taken, I never said we were better than anybody in our class and def never said we were Oakland. Those are your words. Go back and read what was actually said. I said this is a mismatch and I can't see it being beneficial for either team. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nothing wrong with that. Hope its actually a game for the good of both schools.

I actually know one of your kids really well, used to spend the night here quite a bit. He loves Carter and texts my son regularly. Text yesterday wanting to know if he knew anything about Coalfield. Small world.

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
