Thanks for the respect BDP. We're excited to be playing a proud program with rich history in White House.

I am a little surprised it's your homecoming game though! I remember Greenbrier scheduling us for homecoming a couple times recently lol.

The game against Portland was originally Homecoming. Sumner County Schools closed for that week so Homecoming was moved to this week. The only two Home games remaining were Fairview and White House Heritage and the latter is senior night on Halloween weekend, so that's how it happened.

I remember my junior year we scheduled beech coming off a state championship and then a few years later scheduled Springfield and we got drummed in both of them in front of big crowds at homecoming lol.  We just really don’t care about homecoming when it comes to scheduling.

Since we had to move Homecoming, we had this Friday and Week 10 so this week was the best option. Weather should be good and dry so it should be a fun night!! Hoping for a big crowd!

Gotcha. With the way games are being forfeited these days you got to do what you got to do. I can understand that.

I definitely think it it will be a big crowd!

Your in for a surprise vandy. WH may have Waverly spooked but we aren't buying any of it. I saw yalls game. Your defense was awful once WH became a passing threat. Your opinion is way too high of them because it's way too high of Waverly. We're going to play with and In my opinion beat both of you. I do think WH is pretty good but not good as Page or Westview. We could certainly lose from a bad game plan, turnovers, etc. But to say we are outmanned is either misinformed or ignorant.

Also, to say Waverly is on a Peabody level is nuts. Sorry. How do you come up with that?? You're a decent team but Peabody would club you like a baby seal as usual. How did Waverly suddenly ascend to their level?

I love ya buddy but I have to strongly disagree with you on both of those ideas.

Swarm you know I act like a big spoon sometimes and look at the conversations I sparked by doing so. Lol

y’all carry on!

Main street preps predictions:

"Enormous region implications occur Friday night in White House as the Blue Devils are set to host Fairview High School.

The Yellow Jackets have shown the ability to put points on the scoreboard this season, scoring nearly 30 points per game, including back-to-back weeks of 30 and 40 points.

On that same note, White House has been equally impressive on the offensive side of the ball, scoring more than 50 twice and no less than 36 since their 20-6 win in Week 2.

The difference? White House’s defense.

Give me the Blue Devils in a close one, but it’s White House who moves to 4-0 in league play. "

WHITE HOUSE 35, FAIRVIEW 32

(See I wasn't the only one thinking the defense would matter)

"This game could have huge consequences for Region 6-3A. Fairview and White House are the only two remaining undefeated teams in the region.

Fairview finished in second last season behind Stewart County, but the Yellow Jackets already have a victory over SCHS. The winner of Friday’s game would be in the driver’s seat for the region championship.

The Blue Devil offense has been clicking the past few weeks during region play. Ranen Blackburn and company will need to keep the defense guessing and hit their big plays again. It will be a really tough game, but that is what you should expect from region-deciding matchups."

Pick: Fairview 38, White House 35

    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
