I agree. I dont know if it was senior night or just lack of quality opponents prior to facing the Rams but our Offense is a lot better than it  showed that night.

Run D was solid as always minus couple of tough runs. Tyner has a great running back to go with a solid passing attack.

I expect Tyner to give H2O or TC all they can handle

Our offense is alot better than what we showed the first half of the Tyner game for sure.

the Marion offense is not that complicated.  As has already been said - big question for me is can Meigs contain the basic Marion offense with their powerful line as well as their fast and hard running backs.

I'm sure Fitz had already finished preparing for Marion by Tuesday of last week.

It was nice to at least get Shaver and Cam involved even if it was on a trick play. Would have liked to seen some screen passes to Ben or a little more variety but give Tyner credit.

Their overall team speed and tackling kept us in check.

Don't remember a game where we have been outgained in yardage and first downs at home and came away with the victory.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these seniors went undefeated at home didn't they? Can't remember the last game at home we lost in regular season without looking it up.

Something to be proud of. Remember watching this group slug it out with Riceville back in middle school and new they had the chance to be special back then.

They stuck it out and have put together some great runs and a stretch of football that will go down in Meigs history for sure.

They got a chance to finish off their season undefeated and I don't think you will see anything less than all they got this upcoming Friday night.

I think these guys are hungry and tired of hearing about how they are not as good as previous teams or can't compete with the west.

I think Coach will have they ready and they will be fired up for this week and a tough playoff run.

    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
