I think Sycamore has a legitimate chance to win the region this year.

Waverly’s qb is not very good. He fumbled 75% of his snaps last season. Fairview will over work their RB. White house has to replace everyone. Heritage has the worst HC in the region. Cheatham co just lost their best player for the season possibly. He was hurt during wrestling season.

This has to be a joke lol

Is Jamie McLeod no longer coaching the middle school team?

Playmakers like Elliott, Dooley, Stanfield, Griffin, Etc. plus a lot of returning linemen (Flores, Fortner, Calloway all are back) make Waverly the Preseason Favorite to win Region 6.

The big question will be who steps in as the QB to replace Jacob Dooley in 2022.  They have plenty of players in other areas.  Was that player on last year’s roster?  Is it someone from the outside who transfers to Waverly?

I believe Waverly has a very similar year on the field in 2022 that they had in 2021.  Fairview will be good also.  I think the Top 2 in the region will match up well in the opening round of the playoffs against the bottom from Region 5.

The big problem though is that East Nashville is still going to be loaded with players and Smith County practically returns everyone and will be kind of team that White House was last year.  Both teams will Top 5 contenders in 3A in 2022.

In 2023 Waverly will drop in classification and after this upcoming year’s group goes through they’ll be in rebuilding mode and the path in 2A isn’t what it would be in 3A.

Of course in November the TSSAA will reset the classifications and regions for 2023-2026 and nobody can say with absolute certainty that they know what that will look like.

McLeod is gone at Jr High. WaverlY DC who is on faculty at Jr High has taken over. The QB replacing Dooley has been with the team 2 years. He is a Jr this year. The kid has potential. He is no Dooley or Gavin Stanfield but will get the job done in the air and on his feet. In 2020 year of the Covid, Waverly varsity lost 99% of their starters to quarantine and this years Jrs and Seniors went on the road as Freshmen and Sophomores and absolutely beat the brakes off of Scotts Hill. I was impressed by that. There is hope to take the Region Title but I’d be honest and say we probably finish #2 in Region and will probably be out Quarter Final round or possibly even 2nd rd. Definitely looking forward to going back to 2A in 2023

    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
