OK... You have your opinion and I have mine. Have you come to watch any of dburgs games and if so how many? You went back 3 years and this coach has probably been there for a dozen or more years. If the fan base is ok with winning 18 to 20 games a year and never winning the district championship and never making it to a sectional then fine. My personal expectations are a little higher than that. Most if not all the teams around that we are mentioning at some point has broke through to atleast play in sub state ( Haywood, SS, NS, Liberty, Crockett, Ripley, Covington, South Gibson, Humboldt, Trenton, Dyer Co, Lake Co, Martin WV, etc...) and Dburg has had same level of talent as most of these teams in many years and never made it past the regional semis. I'm stating facts as you are as well, so if Dburg administration is ok with never atleast making it to sub state then I love it.

I understand what you are saying. I'm just saying I don't think it really matters who the coach at Dyersburg is, no coach is going to beat the teams they have played in the region semi finals.  The argument can be made you gotta do better in your district to avoid those teams in Region. I can see that point.

Agree... The two games that you mentioned that they faced SS could have been avoided if Dburg wasn't upset in the District Championship game and I believe both were to Crockett. I would argue that the Ripley team that beat Dburg in this years first round of region was beatable considering that Dburg had beat them twice in the regular season, but there again they could have been avoided if Dburg don't get beat by DC in district semis.

In saying all of this, I expect Dburg to be solid and competitive. Just need to prove they can win a big tourney game when it counts.

Agree! I got them winning their district but Haywood is going to be legit in region

Definitely agree with you on Haywood. Verdict still out on Dburg winning District for me. I'm not sure what Crockett or Obion has coming back, but as I have stated in an earlier post, DC will have arguably the best two players in the district in Braylon Taylor and Jalen Brown. Just not sure how much help they will have. McCord will have them ready to play though.

Anyone have any insight on Ripley, Covington, Brighton, or Munford?

Won 20 games a few times in the regular season but what have they done in the post season. Always seem to come up short in the district and regionals. Teams can load up on inferior talent in the regular season and win some games but when it's crunch time and playing against equal or better talent they always come up short. I remember back 4 or 5 years ago when Dburg had the best team they have had talent wise in years and was playing Fayette Ware in regional semis @ South Gibson. Got up by like 6 on FW in the 3rd quarter and the coach had them pulling the ball out trying to stall the ball. Team turned it over 3 or 4 times in a row and completely took the steam out of them. They ended up losing the game in double or triple OT. The coach there does that ALOT!! Won't let the kids just play sometimes. I feel like a good coach knows his team and should give them the freedom to just play sometimes. Doesn't happen here. He overcoaches way to much and when a coach does that the kids are like robots out there. Dburg is a football school, but the basketball teams get plenty of support.

Tend to agree with the coaching questions at dyersburg. What i saw this past year more so in previous years was a Dburg team with superior talent to most opponents that wasnt used to an advantage and substitution rotation that seemed to hurt the flow of the game.  No rhyme or reason except just to rotate and get all the kids in the game. One player had a really bad attitude on the floor especially in pressure situations and some of the choices made on the floor could have been avoided. Games I saw against the lesser talented teams who beat Dburg were just because they got out coached. Whether it was before the game with the preparation or on the floor itself would be a question I would have.

Coaching is definitely suspect never understand why he substitutes so much. Put your best 5 on the floor and let them play
