HCTonyDee
No disrespect but what did he ever do at MJ to have a field named after him? Is the bar really set that low over there? This smells like a son throwing dad a thank you for the job bone. I could be wrong though. 1

HCTonyDee
I admittedly don't know much about either Perry but I just didn't remember either doing much outside of 7 wins or so and early exits from the playoffs. I should probably research more before I post. It just surprised me when I couldn't find any championships or anything. Did he donate a bunch of money to the school? 1
mondo44
266 career wins, semi finals in 2011 and 2012. How many coaches have 266 wins? I believe this is deserved.

Just an odd look. I guess the question is would that field be named after him if his son wasn't the current coach? Maybe elder Perry is a household name in MJ and the community all know and love the guy, that would make sense I guess. Does he live in MJ? MichaelMyers76
66-21 in 7 years at MJ. Make more sense to name the field at Portland after him. Dan Winfree made the semis at MJ also.............................. Edited August 18, 2022 by MichaelMyers76

Using MJ logic Creasy should have the school re-named after him. Edited August 18, 2022 by HCTonyDee
thegreatone36
I never understand how any thread created about MJ is always a shade throwing contest. You're talking about a team who has been one of the upper echelon (top 10, usually top 5) 6A teams now for over a decade. Now in 5A, should be a team to keep an eye on to win it all. But nevertheless, always something negative to say.

Could care less about the negativity from people who have nothing to do with the program, Michaelmyers is one of those coward posters who has no affiliation but beats his chest like he’s somebody and the other dude admittedly said he doesn’t even have facts and should probably do some more research…. Lol the two fool circus.
MichaelMyers76
No coward here. I just question naming the stadium for a coach who was there 7 years of the 100 year history of the school. Can't say it is because he reached the semis since it was done previously. If that is " beating my chest" then oh well. Purvis is an alumni, coached there for years and won A LOT. Yet I can't imagine them naming the field after him. Name the gym for Tim Bell too?
