No disrespect but what did he ever do at MJ to have a field named after him?  Is the bar really set that low over there?  This smells like a son throwing dad a thank you for the job bone.  I could be wrong though.

I admittedly don't know much about either Perry but I just didn't remember either doing much outside of 7 wins or so and early exits from the playoffs.  I should probably research more before I post.  It just surprised me when I couldn't find any championships or anything.  Did he donate a bunch of money to the school?

Yeah that was my thought.  Just an odd look.  I guess the question is would that field be named after him if his son wasn't the current coach?  Maybe elder Perry is a household name in MJ and the community all know and love the guy, that would make sense I guess.  Does he live in MJ?

Hmmm...  Yeah I don't get it.  Using MJ logic Creasy should have the school re-named after him.

I never understand how any thread created about MJ is always a shade throwing contest. You're talking about a team who has been one of the upper echelon (top 10, usually top 5) 6A teams now for over a decade. Now in 5A, should be a team to keep an eye on to win it all. But nevertheless, always something negative to say.

Had a good laugh at these two incompetent fools go back and forth on one of most senseless posts I’ve ever seen created on the T. No coward here. I just question naming the stadium for a coach who was there 7 years of the 100 year history of the school. Can't say it is because he reached the semis since it was done previously. If that is " beating my chest" then oh well.

Purvis is an alumni, coached there for years and won A LOT. Yet I can't imagine them naming the field after him. Name the gym for Tim Bell too?
