Not a chance they are better than Brentwood. They may beat Blackman by controlling the clock, but if Brentwood played Gallatin, I would put my house on it. This is a top 3 team in Williamson County for crying out loud. They may have better athletes, but definitely not as well coached, disciplined, or as physical.

Physical??  I disagree with that.  Most Wilco teams are finesse teams.  They throw a lot and are not power running teams like Sumner Co.  Even Summit in 2019 when they played Gallatin was not overly physical.

So not in the last couple years, but I'd say the past couple hasn't been "up" years in Sumner either. I guess saying "not a chance they are better" is a slightly insulting. I think they are both good, and it would be close game if not in the IFL.

Fair enough. I think Brentwood would win by a respectable margin

This is so wrong. First, you don't have to be a run heavy team to be physical. Brentwood is known to be very physical on the outside with their screen game. Their receivers have traditionally been great blockers. 2nd, last year Independence was the only team in Wilco that threw more than they ran. Every other team was run first, and Indy will be run first this year with their new coach. Finally, Summit was very physical the last two years. You don't have to run the flexbone or Wing T to be "physical" They are spread teams in WILCO, but it is spread to run for the most part.

In my experience, Wilco have not been very physical as the Sumner Co teams.  Did not mean that Wilco were not better.  Summit last year was very physical in my opinion but not as much as Gallatin in 2019.  Gallatin just could not catch them that year.  Centennial with Steele was physical and Brentwood in 01’ and 10’ were when Gallatin played them.  Never said they were not good by any stretch but Hendersonville and Beech under Crabtree are known for being smash mouth teams.  To say teams up here are not as disciplined or not as good coaches at times you are correct.  But not as physical…I cannot buy that.  Unless you count Station Camp in the mix and they have only started to play tough under Alexander.  It’s all opinion anyway no matter which side your on.

That's fine, it's all opinion. If Blackman catches their dropped td passes they have 2 or 3 more td's on the board last Friday. Sounds like Brentwood escaped with a victory

Things can go well for Gtown if Blackman can’t stop the ground and pound. Gallatin has the players to execute that style of play… finally. slow the game down, chew that clock, and Blackman can’t do as much damage through the air.

I gotcha, most people on the outside do think of Williamson County being QB and WR driven teams. I hope y'all beat Blackman this week. As much as I respect Blaze45, I'm not a fan of the HC.

I'm sure Brentwood had similar what ifs. Not about the what if game. From what I heard, Brentwood DOMINATED controlled the game and DOMINATED time of procession. Gallatin will try to do the same. Good luck to your team

We will have to play a great game, and execute on all sides of the ball. It's not a week where one side can be good and the other just "meh"

    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
