Scoreless tie at the half. Both defenses are playing really well. Both offenses have made some plays but neither has been able to finish a drive yet.

0-0 at halftime. Both teams have put together some promising drives. Really odd decision by UC at the end of the half to run a QB draw on 4th & 10 from the 16 with two seconds left. Some very sloppy and undisciplined penalties by USJ throughout the half. Will USJ’s playmakers get loose in the second half or will Union City wear them out with the long, steady drives? Good game.

Very nice win by Union City. They wore down USJ with the long, sustained drives in the first half then were able to break some big runs in the second. Great line play and perfectly executed game plan. They can hit you with speed and power and are stout on defense as well. Union City is legit and should contend for a gold ball in 1A.

Not so much for USJ. The penalties and miscues have quietly become a trend over the last few years. They’re going to have to change something on offense to get the ball in the hands of their playmakers. Tough to run a pro style offense when you struggle to complete basic passing routes. Bizarre and bad coaching to run the ball so many times on that last drive and forfeit any chance to win.
